What to see

The garden has been open to the public since 1933. Built on the cliff side, it grows succulent plants in the open air — cacti and agaves from the south-west of the United States, Mexico and Central and South America, and other succulents from southern and eastern Africa and the Arabian Peninsula — with a view over the Principality.

• The Observatory Cave — a guided tour leaves every hour from 10:00 and takes 40 to 45 minutes. The cave opens at the foot of the garden’s cliff, about 100 metres above sea level; the visit goes down some 300 steps, with a specialist guide, in groups of up to 50.
• The Botanical Centre — guided tours on Tuesdays at 14:00, and from Wednesday to Saturday at 10:00 and 14:00.
• The shop — open to everyone, without a ticket.

Tickets in 2026

One ticket covers the garden; the cave and the Botanical Centre are add-ons. Children under 4 and Monégasques enter free.

A combined ticket with the Oceanographic Museum covers the garden, the cave or the Botanical Centre, and the museum: €33 for adults, €30 for seniors, €20 for children aged 4 to 17. It is sold at the museum’s ticket desks only.

Plan your visit

The garden opens at 9:00 every day; closing time depends on the month. Ticket sales and entry stop 30 minutes before closing. It is closed on 19 November, on 25 December and for the Formula 1 Grand Prix.

• Wheelchairs — the upper part of the garden is accessible to wheelchair users; staff at the entrance say which areas can be reached. Entry is free for visitors with disabilities.
• Getting there — the garden is at 62 boulevard du Jardin Exotique, with a car park just opposite.
