Rakugo - Japanese Humorous Tales by Cyril Coppini
30 October 2026
Rakugo is the traditional Japanese art of humorous storytelling. It developed as entertainment during the Edo period (1603-1868). Dressed in a kimono, the storyteller remains seated throughout the performance. They embody all the characters, armed with a fan and a square of cloth. Armed with these simple props and drawing on their acting talent, they must be able to describe the story and its world and provoke laughter and emotion. The punchline of the story, called ochi, is one of the most important moments of the performance. All audiences from age 4, child accompanied by an adult. Free admission.
